So I finally finally found a job (hence the lack of my internet activity). Ten hours a day, could have been seven days a week (I asked for two days off a week, I would be dead if I didn’t), selling blueberries on the side of the road. As not awesome as that may sound, it is awesome! If you want to find me, I move around between a stall on Annis road, Yale road just before Annis or at the Esso gas station, and one day I may just end up by the Husky near the mall. To be honest, the blueberries are the cheapest in town and the best. The family who owns the farm are really picky about what berries are being sold in the stalls so they always make sure they are fresh picked, big and blue.
This job has taught me a lot about blueberries. Like how stupid people friggen eat a pound of berries from a box they are not buying while holding three boxes that they have bought while buying two more then and there. Thanks buddy! You just ate what could have made me two bucks! I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but with how cheap we’ve priced things and when five people do that or more a day, it adds up. But also I do actually know a lot on blueberries. Like, when buying blueberries, you want to pay more attention to the colour rather than size. Make sure they have a silvery sheen to them. It protects the berries and you really don’t want to have your hands on a berry when that protection is gone. Trust me, my hands are gross and sticky after every shift.
Its also a nice job. I get a lot of sun so I’m getting enough of a tan to not be white. I do lift enough pounds of berries to keep my arms working. I can relax and read a lot. I also can dance on the side of the road with my misspelt sign like a crazy person to try to get more people to buy. (Trust me, it works. It’s amazing.) And my awesome boss brought me somosas today that were SO GOOD.
My hands get messy every day, I get berry underneath my nails which is a pain, my hands and nails are stained my “new summer nail colour berry blue!” and because of the sign I painted, I still have white paint ALL OVER MYSELF.
I love my job.
